Inside the Box – Owl Crate {March}

Hello Friends!!

Welcome to my March Owl Crate unboxing post! The theme was Sailors, Ships & Seas! I’m not a big pirate fan, so I wasn’t sure how much I would like this box. It has some cute things in it and some things I wasn’t overly keen about. So, let’s get into it!

Top left corner is a super cute octopus note pad from BoyGirlParty, it’s so adorable that I don’t even  want to use it! Bottom right is an exclusive purple & gold mermaid scale washi tape from Simply Gilded. The beautiful blue and white ship and quote is a tea towel from Kitch Studios. It’s the last thing I expected! It’s gorgeous and light, I don’t think it’s super absorbent though so I’m not sure how good useful it will actually be. In the center is the owl crate button… Arr! He’s a pirate matey! 😉

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map-the key to a legendary treasure trove-seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship. More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.

The featured book is The Daughter of the Pirate King. This will be my second adventure on the high seas! The first one didn’t end so well (Blue Tide), so I am hoping this one goes better! Included with the book was a letter from the author, Tricia Levenseller, a temporary skull & cross dagger(?) tattoo and a signed bookplate. The last item was a compass/ship tiller bronze coloured necklace designed by OwlCrate and produced by The Geeky Cauldron!

Overall, this box has several items I won’t use for their intended purpose but I am sure they will find their way into photos on my bookstagram!

Inside the Box – Nerdy Post {March}

Hello Friends!

I’m VERY late sharing my unboxings for March and I’m sorry! March’s Nerdy Post theme was…  DISNEY!!

And it is BEAUTIFUL!! Alexis always, always does beautiful work and this box was amazing. Above is a the full box, keep reading and get exact descriptions of everything and see what was on the other side of the Baymax mini poster and bookmark!

So we’ll go clockwise from  the top left corner!  This is a beautiful 3D mini poster featuring The Little Mermaid! The quote is “I just don’t see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad” – Ariel The script bubbles up from the paper like bubbles in the ocean!! Next to it is a sheet of mini stickers with quotes from Jafar (Aladdin), Meg (Hercules), Emperor of China (Mulan), Tiana (Princess and the Frog), Judy Hopps (Zootopia) and Hans & Anna (Frozen). The Pocahontas mini print is also the index card for the box. The little blue wisp is a sticker from Brave and it says “Change Your Fate”. Bottom right hand corner is the iconic Nerdy Post card, it looks like it’s Cinderella’s castle from Disneyland but I could be wrong. (Correct me if you know which castle that is!) The bookmark is reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast’s stained glass windows and features a quote from the handsome Gaston! “It’s not right for a woman to read. Pretty soon she gets ideas… starts thinking” Oh what a guy! haha!! In the center, we have the Baymax mini print from Big Hero 6 and he’d like to know “Are you Satisfied with you care?”

Top right hand corner is a Sleeping Beauty magnet it looks directly from a dream! Below the magnet is the backside of the mini print with a Lion King quote, “The past can hurt but the way I see it, you can either run from  it of learn from it” wise words Rafiki!! The little tea light is a bonus item from Wickdom featuring the Belle inspired scent, Chapter Three! Bottom left corner is a classic Tangled quote, “Here comes the smolder” and it’s printed on a pocket mirror!! I will fully admit to making the Flynn Rider duck face the second I pulled that mirror out of the box 😀 Next, is the backside of the bookmark. The quote is from Robin Hood, “Oo De Lally, Oo De Lally… Golly What a Day!” Lastly, we have the main poster that features Moana and the background designs are courtesy of Maui’s tattoos.

I was so excited when I found out the theme was Disney, I expected such wonderful things with this theme and I wasn’t at all disappointed. My favourite items are the bookmark, wisp sticker and pocket mirror.

Have you signed up to Nerdy Post Box yet? Why not, what are you waiting for? Click the logo and sign up for April!! (Did you know she also does amazingly soft T-shirts?)

Reviews are coming!!

Hello Friends!

I know I have said this many times over the last couple of month but this cold and flu season is kicking my butt!  For the last week my nose had resembled Rudolph’s and I swear it was glowing. I haven’t been feeling super terrible, it’s just been one cold after another and each one manifesting differently.

That being said, I have been reading! There will be reviews forthcoming about The Night Circus, My Not So Perfect Life and Heartless!

Also, we’re quickly coming up on the release of A Court of Wings and Ruin and I wanted to remind you that I’ll be doing a giveaway on my Instagram (@loveabibliophile) for the Indigo Exclusive hard cover edition and some other goodies! It will be worth it and it will be international!

How has everyone else’s Spring been so far? What wonderful books have you read? Once I get through my rather large tbr pile, which includes titles like Love & Gelato, The Star Touched Queen, The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop and Café and Into a Dark, Dark Wood, I will be looking for recommendations!
