Inside the Box – Owl Crate {March}

Hello Friends!!

Welcome to my March Owl Crate unboxing post! The theme was Sailors, Ships & Seas! I’m not a big pirate fan, so I wasn’t sure how much I would like this box. It has some cute things in it and some things I wasn’t overly keen about. So, let’s get into it!

Top left corner is a super cute octopus note pad from BoyGirlParty, it’s so adorable that I don’t even  want to use it! Bottom right is an exclusive purple & gold mermaid scale washi tape from Simply Gilded. The beautiful blue and white ship and quote is a tea towel from Kitch Studios. It’s the last thing I expected! It’s gorgeous and light, I don’t think it’s super absorbent though so I’m not sure how good useful it will actually be. In the center is the owl crate button… Arr! He’s a pirate matey! 😉

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map-the key to a legendary treasure trove-seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship. More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.

The featured book is The Daughter of the Pirate King. This will be my second adventure on the high seas! The first one didn’t end so well (Blue Tide), so I am hoping this one goes better! Included with the book was a letter from the author, Tricia Levenseller, a temporary skull & cross dagger(?) tattoo and a signed bookplate. The last item was a compass/ship tiller bronze coloured necklace designed by OwlCrate and produced by The Geeky Cauldron!

Overall, this box has several items I won’t use for their intended purpose but I am sure they will find their way into photos on my bookstagram!

P.S. April’s OwlCrate theme is…. Head Over Heels! It will feature an item from Storiarts and a candle from Novelly Yours!

Inside the Box – Nerdy Post {March}

Hello Friends!

I’m VERY late sharing my unboxings for March and I’m sorry! March’s Nerdy Post theme was…  DISNEY!!

And it is BEAUTIFUL!! Alexis always, always does beautiful work and this box was amazing. Above is a the full box, keep reading and get exact descriptions of everything and see what was on the other side of the Baymax mini poster and bookmark!

So we’ll go clockwise from  the top left corner!  This is a beautiful 3D mini poster featuring The Little Mermaid! The quote is “I just don’t see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad” – Ariel The script bubbles up from the paper like bubbles in the ocean!! Next to it is a sheet of mini stickers with quotes from Jafar (Aladdin), Meg (Hercules), Emperor of China (Mulan), Tiana (Princess and the Frog), Judy Hopps (Zootopia) and Hans & Anna (Frozen). The Pocahontas mini print is also the index card for the box. The little blue wisp is a sticker from Brave and it says “Change Your Fate”. Bottom right hand corner is the iconic Nerdy Post card, it looks like it’s Cinderella’s castle from Disneyland but I could be wrong. (Correct me if you know which castle that is!) The bookmark is reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast’s stained glass windows and features a quote from the handsome Gaston! “It’s not right for a woman to read. Pretty soon she gets ideas… starts thinking” Oh what a guy! haha!! In the center, we have the Baymax mini print from Big Hero 6 and he’d like to know “Are you Satisfied with you care?”

Top right hand corner is a Sleeping Beauty magnet it looks directly from a dream! Below the magnet is the backside of the mini print with a Lion King quote, “The past can hurt but the way I see it, you can either run from  it of learn from it” wise words Rafiki!! The little tea light is a bonus item from Wickdom featuring the Belle inspired scent, Chapter Three! Bottom left corner is a classic Tangled quote, “Here comes the smolder” and it’s printed on a pocket mirror!! I will fully admit to making the Flynn Rider duck face the second I pulled that mirror out of the box 😀 Next, is the backside of the bookmark. The quote is from Robin Hood, “Oo De Lally, Oo De Lally… Golly What a Day!” Lastly, we have the main poster that features Moana and the background designs are courtesy of Maui’s tattoos.

I was so excited when I found out the theme was Disney, I expected such wonderful things with this theme and I wasn’t at all disappointed. My favourite items are the bookmark, wisp sticker and pocket mirror.

Have you signed up to Nerdy Post Box yet? Why not, what are you waiting for? Click the logo and sign up for April!! (Did you know she also does amazingly soft T-shirts?)

P.S. April’s Nerdy Post Theme is…  J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth!

Inside the Box – Nerdy Post {February}

Hello Friends!sherlock%20main%20duo

February’s Nerdy Post theme was Sherlock (the BBC version with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman) HELLOOO

Ahem… sorry *cough*

Right, the Nerdy Post Box! I know I say this every box but Alexis giiirrrl, you outdid yourself! I LOVED this box, so much so that I didn’t even do an unboxing video I just tore through it like I was starving. Let me show you why…

wp-1487904097583.jpgAlexis hit us right in the feels with the theme description mini print (left) “I was So Alone and I owe you So Much” – Dr. John Watson.  Ugh, POW right in the chest I tell ya! The right mini print is GORGEOUS, here’s the first side “I may be on the side of the Angels but don’t think for a second that I am one of them” – Sherlock Holmes.

Here is the flip side of the mini print wp-1487904102639.jpgwhich features a quote from  Moriarty (how fitting) – “In a world full of locked rooms, the man with the key is king, and honey, you should see me in a crown” zing!

Also shown is one of my favourite items in the box! This is the first time Nerdy Post has had washi tape and I hope (pray) it’s not the last. “We can’t giggle, it’s a CRIME SCENEa great quote from  a hilarious scene. I currently have the tape lining the  bottom of my computer monitor at work. And I giggle. Every. Time.wp-1487904084014.jpg

The Fat Book Mark (side one) is a sassy little quip from Sherlock, “Don’t talk out loud, you lower the IQ of the whole street.”  The Skinny Bookmark (side one) is from the devious Moriarty, “Every fairytale needs a good, old-fashioned villain”.  So true, Moriarty, so true!

The second side of the Fatty is this AWESOME skull water colour and shows fabulous Mrs. Hudson, who is NOT your housekeeper! “A nice murder, that will cheer you up!”

The skinny flip side is all Irene Adler, who is a roll model to  women everywhere 😉 “Brainy is the new sexy” – AMEN SISTA!

Another staple in the box is the sticker,  and I love it.  It’s on the back of the very laptop  I am using right now. “He’s clueing for looks” So pretty!!

Are you starting to see why I ripped into this box??wp-1487904059131.jpg

LapelYeah helped Alexis turn her Instagram hyper lapse video into this awesome lapel pin.  This is also at the office, because who isn’t “BORED” at work? Like it says on the display card, this is a Nerdy Post Exclusive! (Sorry Alicia!!)wp-1487904072845.jpg

Also included, to round out the things I brought to the office, were some post-its! Sherlock likes to text!!  “Baker Street. Come at once if convenient. SH” followed closely by a follow up “If inconvenient, come anyway. SH”. Typical.

The POSTER is the main item of the box, this is a classic Sherlock quote and really, truly epitomizes the series. “Once you’ve ruled out the impossible, whatever remains,  however improbable, must be true”. If you have yet to watch Sherlock, you really should. There is only three seasons with a handful of episodes (not nearly enough!!). Benedict and Martin are amazing as the sleuthy duo. However, now that I have seen Benedict as Sherlock, it’s hard to see anyone else in the roll and I watch Elementary starring Johnny Lee Miller (and Lucy Liu as Watson). wp-1487904078664.jpg

Last, but not least, is the iconic Nerdy Post post card!! I love that these are included, they are fully colourable so that you can do them up and send them off to your pen pal or a Sherlock lover! Alexis has put many little quotes, all hidden and tucked around the card for you to find.

I hope you liked the Nerdy Post’s February Sherlock box as much as I did. March’s theme is… DISNEY!! Woohoo! With the live action  Beauty and The Beast coming out the same month, I can only imagine there will be a B&B item in there! Go ahead, click on the box below to subscribe and get your own Nerdy Post box! Use code ANDI10 for 10% off your box! You can also go HERE to purchase some items from past boxes, perhaps some of these items will show up!
